Carlo Ancelotti provides injury updates on Real Madrid pair before Bayern Munich

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Monday provided updates on the wellbeing of two key members of his squad.

As much, of course, comes ahead of Real’s imminent return to action on the continent.

With the La Liga title now all but secured, Los Blancos will turn their attentions back towards matters in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

A semi-final first-leg showdown with German heavyweights Bayern Munich lies in wait, at the Allianz Arena.

Late on Monday, boss Carlo Ancelotti, in turn, held his pre-match press conference in front of the expectant media.

And front and centre on the agenda, unsurprisingly, was the personnel situation in his squad heading into tomorrow night’s clash.

First, Real’s headmaster confirmed that Ferland Mendy, who was forced to sit out against Real Sociedad over the weekend, is ready to feature.

“Ferland Mendy is fine. He rested and is well recovered.”

Ancelotti then went on to reveal that long-term injury absentee Thibaut Courtois is also back available for selection.

Los Blancos’ no.1, however, will not be risked at the Allianz Arena, Andriy Lunin set to maintain his place between the posts:

“Thibaut Courtois is back from his injury, but he will not play tomorrow.”
