Carlo Ancelotti on Eden Hazard: “The problem he has is that there is a coach who prefers other players.”

Speaking at a press conference before Real Madrid’s match with Osasuna on October 27, Carlo Ancelotti discussed several players in his squad.

On Eden Hazard

“He does not have this [star] status because he has had many injuries. Little by little, he will be back to his best.

“I am sure that this season we will see his best version and that he will play more than he is doing now. Hazard has everything: quality, motivation… He just has to wait.

“He can play on the left of a 4-3-3 or in a 4-4-2 he can play wide, or behind the striker. He is ready to play, but the problem he has is that there is a coach who prefers other players,” Ancelotti said.

On Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale will increase the competition for forward places when he returns from injury, though the Welshman is still a couple of weeks away from making a return. Ancelotti has earmarked the visit of Rayo Vallecano on November 6 for a possible return to action.

“Gareth Bale was medically cleared yesterday and I think that in a week he will be able to train with the team. Maybe he can be involved against Rayo Vallecano,” he explained.
