Several leading members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday taken to social media, to send messages of appreciation and congratulations the way of young teammate Yan Diomandé.
This of course comes fresh off an evening to remember for the Ivorian on Saturday…
In Real Madrid’s return to action post-international break, Diomandé was afforded a starting berth in a league meeting with Villarreal.
And en route to an eventual 1-0 triumph, the 19-year-old netted the game’s decisive goal. Slipped into the Villarreal penalty area by Federico Valverde just beyond the hour mark, Diomandé did superbly to direct a pinpoint effort into the far corner of the net.
The young attacker’s emotion was immediately clear during his celebrations, as Diomandé was spotted with tears in his eyes.
And as alluded to above, fellow members of José Mourinho’s squad have since moved to make clear their delight for the summer arrival at the Bernabéu.
Taking to the comments section of Diomandé’s post-match Instagram post, the likes of Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Jr, Arda Güler and Thibaut Courtois all celebrated their new teammate’s achievement:
