An up-and-coming member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week made the call to bring a close to his time with the club.
This comes amid widespread confirmation that Áron Yaakobishvili is on the verge of a move to Spanish football’s 2nd tier, to link up with Almería.
Yaakobishvili, for his part, is a highly-regarded young shot-stopper, who has long been tipped for a bright future in the game. Despite his tender years (20), ‘Yaako’ has already been capped at senior level by his home country of Hungary.
This past season, the youngster was afforded his first opportunity to garner first-team minutes at club level, impressing en route to 21 league appearances for La Liga 2 outfit Andorra.
Yaakobishvili’s performances in Andorra’s capital did not go unnoticed across the Spanish football landscape, with a number of clubs understood to have expressed an interest in his signature this summer.
And as alluded to above, one such suitor now appear to be all set to bring the Hungarian in for the season ahead. As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Áron Yaakobishvili is finalising his move to Almería. The Andalusian club will pay between 2 and 3 million euros to FC Barcelona, who will retain 50-60% of the player’s rights.’
