La Liga giants Barcelona have not yet ruled out the potential signing of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford on a permanent basis. That’s according to English outlet TeamTalk, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.
Frontman Rashford spent the duration of the 2025/26 season plying his trade in Barcelona colours, on loan from the aforementioned Man United. The 28-year-old went on to enjoy a productive stint in Spain, racking up an impressive 28 direct goal contributions all told.
Despite these exploits, the Camp Nou brass opted against activating the purchase option included in their deal for his signing, instead bringing in both Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
But as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the attacker’s home country of England is anything to go by, then Deco and his team of Blaugrana directors could yet spring a surprise over the coming weeks…
As per a report from TeamTalk:
‘Barcelona remain in contact with Marcus Rashford’s representatives as the Catalan giants continue to assess their attacking options and probe what could still result in a dramatic return from Manchester United.’
Amid ongoing frustration in their pursuit of Atlético Madrid standout Julián Alvarez, Barca, it is claimed, could turn back to Rashford before the window is out. Following the departures of both Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, the Blaugrana appreciate the England internatioal for his ability to fill multiple positions in the final third.
