Barcelona youngster Marc Bernal has on Wednesday taken to social media, to speak publicly for the first time since the first major setback in his fledgling career.
Midfielder Bernal, of course, if fresh off a hugely trying 24 hours.
After being forced into a premature departure from Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano, the 17-year-old was put through a series of medical scans.
And, in a blow for club and player alike, as much confirmed that Bernal has suffered a torn ACL, as well as meniscus damage, in his left knee.
News of the extent of Bernal’s injury has resulted in an outpouring of messages of well-wishes for the Spaniard, from across the football landscape.
And, as alluded to above, late on Wednesday, Bernal himself has responded.
Taking to his official Instagram account, the Blaugrana prodigy unveiled a photo of himself being helped from the pitch at Vallecas, accompanied by the caption:
‘Thinking about recovery. Many thanks for the support culers’
