Barcelona star Alejandro Balde has been left disappointed and saddened by manager Hansi Flick’s recent handling of his situation at the club.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have early this week provided an insight into the mindset of the out-of-favour defender.
Balde is for his part in the midst of what has been an altogether challenging campaign to date. Sitting behind both João Cancelo and Xavi Espart in the left-back pecking order in Catalunya’s capital, the Spaniard has not been afforded a single start to date.
This past weekend, Hansi Flick made clearer than ever his lack of faith in Balde’s talents, leaving the 23-year-old on the bench despite the ongoing injury crisis in Barca’s defensive ranks.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, the situation as a whole now appears to be taking its toll on Balde.

‘Balde is upset. He expected Flick to be direct with him. According to those close to him, everything he’s heard about his situation has come through press conferences.’
