A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is attracting fresh interest from the Saudi Pro League.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Raphinha as the player in question.
Wide-man Raphinha, of course, was tipped for a potential Barcelona exit throughout the recently-completed campaign.
As much comes chiefly owing to the Blaugrana’s financial issues, rather than any major on-pitch shortcomings on the part of the former Leeds United man himself.
Raphinha, for his part, racked up a none-too-shabby ten goals and 13 assists across all competitions in 2023/24.
Such production, in turn, has continued to turn heads across not only Europe, but amidst the riches of the Saudi Pro League, too.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, one such club from the latter are ready to tempt Barcelona, by way of a mammoth summer offer for Raphinha.
As per MD:
‘One of the most powerful Saudi clubs is willing to go all out in order to acquire the services of the Brazilian international.’
The outfit in question are preparing a proposal worth a sum in excess of €100 million, to bring Raphinha in with a view to next season.
The 27-year-old would also see his current wages doubled.
The problem for Barcelona, however, is the fact that, as things stand, Raphinha has no desire to take his talents to the Middle East.
It now remains to be seen whether the impending arrival of Hansi Flick in Catalunya’s capital could give rise to a change in the situation…
