A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Wednesday provided an update on the wellbeing of teammate Dani Olmo.
This comes amid fan concern over the situation of the 26-year-old.
Attacking midfielder Olmo of course brought to a close a lengthy saga upon putting pen to paper on terms with Barcelona earlier this month.
The Spanish international, fresh off playing a starring role in Spain’s triumphant Euro 2024 campaign, arrived in Catalunya’s capital amid widespread fanfare.
In turn, it came as something of a disappointment when, last weekend, Olmo was not part of Hansi Flick’s squad for Barca’s La Liga season opener against Valencia.
The former RB Leipzig man was not officially registered for the matchup, albeit with manager Flick having assured in the buildup to the Mestalla trip that Olmo was also not yet fit enough to take to the pitch.
As much has given rise to further chatter across the week to date, with some having even speculated that the Spaniard may in fact have arrived in Barcelona sporting an existing injury.
As alluded to above, however, such claims have this evening been firmly rebuffed.
As part of a Q&A for The Residency on Wednesday, one of Olmo’s new Blaugrana teammates, in Pedri, was asked by a fan if his compatriot is injured.
And Pedri left no room for interpretation with his response, simply responding:
‘No’
