Barcelona star set for long-awaited start vs Getafe

Barcelona summer signing Gabriel Jesus will, barring any last-minute changes, be in from the off for the very first time in Blaugrana colours on Saturday.

This comes amid the understanding that the Brazilian has been chosen as the replacement for fellow countryman Raphinha.

Barcelona are primed to kick their campaign back into gear tomorrow evening, in a La Liga meeting with Getafe. Captain and top scorer Raphinha has already been ruled out of the clash, as confirmed by Hansi Flick during his pre-match press conference.

This leaves a gaping hole in the Spanish champions’ frontline, opening the door for some of the less-utilised members of Barca’s ranks to step up.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from Catalunya is anything to go by, then Hansi Flick’s mind already appears to be made up when it comes to Raphinha’s replacement.

As per a report from Blaugrana insider Gerard Romero, Gabriel Jesus is in line for his first start in the famed red and blue stripes against Getafe.
