A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Tuesday netted his first-ever goal at senior level.
The player in question? Pau Cubarsí.
Barcelona are of course currently locked in action, in the Copa del Rey.
Fresh off a 2-0 downing of Las Palmas in La Liga at the weekend, the Blaugrana have turned attentions back towards the cup, in a semi-final first-leg meeting with Atlético Madrid.
And, after a horror start which saw Hansi Flick’s troops fall two goals behind inside six minutes, the evening’s hosts have since turned things around in impressive fashion.
First, just shy of the 20-minute mark, Pedri pulled one back courtesy of a composed side-footed finish.
Then, just moments later, it was the aforementioned Pau Cubarsí’s turn to make his mark.
Rising highest for a corner from the right, the 18-year-old nodded home a fine header, to both open his account in Barcelona colours, and draw the Catalans level on the evening.
