Barcelona star leading Champions League in chances created after PSG clash

A headline member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has established himself as the leading chance creator across the Champions League campaign to date.

The player in question? İlkay Gündoğan.

German international Gündoğan was of course back in action on Wednesday night.

As much came as the former Manchester City man was afforded a starting berth in the middle of the park in Barcelona’s quarter-final first-leg showdown with Paris Saint-Germain.

And, en route to an eventual 3-2 triumph, Gündoğan proved himself decisive.

The 33-year-old was responsible for laying on what proved to be the game’s winner inside the closing 15 minutes, his inswinging corner from the left nodded home by substitute Andreas Christensen.

And, as alluded to above, in the process, Gündoğan secured for himself an altogether noteworthy benchmark.
