A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona looks set to be rewarded with a new contract by those in the Camp Nou boardroom.
This comes amid the understanding that Marc Bernal is inching ever closer to a renewal agreement with the Blaugrana.
Youngster Bernal has seen speculation begin to mount regarding his future in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks. Amid the Spanish champions’ ongoing pursuit of Manchester City standout Rodri, the 19-year-old has been tipped to move on in search of consistent starting minutes.
Barca, for their part, are understood to have little intention of sanctioning Bernal’s exit, viewing the midfield starlet as a central figure in the club’s long-term future.
And as alluded to above, this week, Deco and co. have moved to make as much clear to the player and his entourage alike. As per a report from market insider Nicolo Schira:
‘Marc Bernal is getting closer to extending his contract with Barca until 2031.’
