Barcelona set to sign Pablo Torre from Racing Santander

Pablo Torre is close to joining FC Barcelona from Racing Santander, according to Sport.

The club have reached an agreement with the 18-year-old player. Barcelona and Racing are currently finalising the details of the operation for the attacking midfielder.

Torre is under contract at Racing until 2025 and has a release clause of €10 million, but Barcelona are negotiating to pay less.

Real Madrid and Real Sociedad were also interested in signing the talented playmaker.

A fundamental factor in the player’s decision to sign for Barca has been manager Xavi Hernández. Xavi has made him and his entourage aware of the solidity of the project in which young players are given opportunities.

Xavi’s commitment to players such as Pedri, Nico and Gavi are the best proof that at this stage there is no fear of playing young players, as would be the case with Torre.

Torre has already been capped by Spain at U19 level.
