The scouting department at La Liga champions Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the development of up-and-coming Brazilian defender Arthur Dias.
This comes with a view to a potential future offer for the starlet.
Dias, for his part, is a 19-year-old stopper, who chiefly lines out in a central role, but is also capable of filling in at left-back. Despite his tender years, the Brazilian is already one of the first names on the team sheet at Athletico Paranaense.
His stellar efforts at club level recently gave rise to a first-ever senior international call-up, expected to be afforded his debut by Carlo Ancelotti in Brazil’s upcoming round of friendly fixtures.
And as alluded to above, this ascent on Dias’ part has not gone unnoticed amongst those behind the scenes at Barcelona… As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing UmDois Deportes:
‘Joao Amaral, Barcelona’s head of scouting, was present at Athletico Paranaense’s match against Bahia to scout Arthur Dias.’
Athletico Paranaense, it is understood, value their defensive standout at around €30 million.
