Barcelona ready to sign Pau Víctor from Girona

The powers that be at Barcelona have all but come to the decision to activate their option to buy on Pau Víctor this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Thursday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

Frontman Víctor, for his part, linked up with Barcelona last summer, as part of a season-long loan from La Liga rivals Girona.

And, safe to say, the 22-year-old has since gone on to make his presence very much felt in Catalunya’s capital.

All told, across 31 appearances to date for Rafa Márquez’s Barca Atlètic, he has racked up a head-turning 21 direct goal contributions.

As much comes by way of 17 goals and four assists, enough for Víctor to boast top-scorer status for the Blaugrana’s reserve outfit.

The Spaniard, as a result, has been called up to first-team training on a number of occasions, frequently included in his matchday setup by headmaster Xavi, too.

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear that the call has been made for Víctor’s signing to be made a permanent one with a view to next season.

As per the aforementioned MD:

‘At the Camp Nou they have no doubts about his incorporation, as Pau Víctor has convinced both his coach, Rafa Márquez, and the sports management.’

As much will of course depend on Barcelona’s financial situation, but with the frontman’s buy option having been set at just €3 million, the expectation is that, come the summer’s end, Víctor will be able to call himself a full-time Barcelona player.
