Barcelona pair set to be reintroduced to starting XI for Napoli clash

Two headline members of the first-team setup at Barcelona are in line for respective returns to starting duties for the club’s next outing.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the selection plans of Barca boss Xavi.

The Blaugrana, of course, are set to mark their return to action in 48 hours’ time.

Fresh off a hard-fought La Liga downing of Mallorca, Xavi and co. will turn their attentions back towards matters on the continent, in the 2nd leg of the club’s Champions League Last-16 showdown with Italian champions Napoli.

The tie currently sits on something of a knife edge, owing to a 1-1 first leg stalemate in Naples.

This time round, Barcelona will therefore be nothing short of desperate to go one better, to keep alive the club’s European adventure for the season.

And, in efforts to do so, the Catalans look set to reintroduce two key performers to their starting XI.

The players in question? Ronald Araújo, and Robert Lewandowski.

Both defender Araújo, and frontman Lewandowski were absent from Barca’s line-up to face Mallorca, the former owing to suspension, and latter to secure some much-needed rest.

As per the aforementioned Sport, though, the pair, as expected, will be restored to starting duties on Tuesday night, at Montjuïc.

Also expected to feature from the off against Napoli, meanwhile, are the likes of João Cancelo, Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen, and İlkay Gündoğan.
