La Liga giants Barcelona have been afforded the chance to bring in a new central defender, as a free agent.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Mario Hermoso as the player in question.
Spaniard Hermoso has for his part been without a club since earlier this summer.
This comes after the 29-year-old failed to find an agreement on the terms of a renewal with long-time employers Atlético Madrid.
A whole host of sides from across the continent have in turn been tipped as potential landing spots for Hermoso.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, yet another name has been added to this list.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, owing to the injuries suffered by all of Ronald Araújo, Andreas Christensen and Eric García, the brass at the Camp Nou have begun seeking out central defensive reinforcements ahead of the transfer deadline.
And, in the midst of as much, Hermoso is understood to have been offered to Deco and co. by way of his representatives.
It now remains to be seen whether or not Barcelona are interested in the Real Madrid academy product.
