The board at La Liga champions Barcelona have made a call on the future of Marcus Rashford with the club, at least for the time being.
This comes amid confirmation that the Blaugrana do not intend to activate their option to make the Englishman’s signing permanent this summer.
Frontman Rashford of course spent the duration of the 2025/26 campaign plying his trade on loan at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Though never considered first-choice, the 28-year-old went on to play a key role in Hansi Flick’s squad, to the tune of 14 goals and 14 assists across 49 appearances in all competitions.
As alluded to above, though, such exploits have evidently not proven enough to convince Flick and co. of Rashford’s worthiness of a €30 million price-tag.
As per a report from market expert Fabrizio Romano:
‘Barcelona will not pay €30m buy option clause for Marcus Rashford, expiring in 5 days. Rashford formally set to return to Man United but Barça remain open to new solutions, like another loan deal.’
