Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is ready to afford a chance to impress to a member of the club’s loan army in pre-season.
The player in question? Héctor Fort.
Youngster Fort is for his part fresh off a spell out on loan, with Elche. After it was made clear to the versatile defender that he would find game time hard to come by in Catalunya’s capital in 2025/26, Fort agreed to a move to Barcelona’s La Liga rivals.
His stint in Alicante proved to be something of a hit-and-miss one, as the 19-year-old’s impact was restricted by injury woes.
When on the pitch, though, Fort largely impressed, particularly in the attacking third. Across 17 appearances all told between La Liga and the Copa del Rey, the Spaniard racked up a head-turning five direct goal contributions.
And as alluded to above, such exploits evidently proved enough to catch the eye of Hansi Flick.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘Flick has transferred to Héctor Fort that he is counting on him, at least, for the preseason. The full-back will return after leaving his physical problems behind and will have the opportunity to vindicate himself during the first weeks of work.’
