Barcelona in talks with Chelsea for César Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso

Barcelona are meeting for talks with Chelsea to negotiate the signings of César Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, according to Gerard Romero.

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is in Barcelona to discuss the transfers with the La Liga club. Boehly is having dinner with Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, Mateu Alemany, director of football at the club, and Jordi Cruyff, his right-hand man.

In the last few hours, the club accelerated talks with Chelsea to try to reach an agreement on César Azpilicueta before Saturday, when Chelsea go on tour of the USA, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

The meeting between Chelsea and Barca will not only discuss the future of Azpilicueta, who is a priority for Xavi, but also that of Marcos Alonso, Frenkie de Jong and Sergiño Dest, players of interest to Chelsea.

Azpilicueta and Alonso already have agreements in place with Barcelona. It is now up to Chelsea to reach an agreement with the Camp Nou outfit.
