The board at La Liga giants Barcelona have earmarked a ‘dream’ signing on the transfer front with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.
This comes amid confirmation that, in an ideal scenario, the Blaugrana would bring Manchester City standout Joško Gvardiol to the Spotify Camp Nou.
Those in a position of power in Barcelona have already made the call to dip into the winter transfer market. Amid an early-season injury crisis, the Catalans’ lack of defensive depth has been laid bare.
Deco and co, as a result, intend to bring in a new profile to man the heart of Hansi Flick’s backline for the campaign’s run-in.
And according to Mundo Deportivo:
‘Josko Gvardiol would be the dream centre-back. The City defender has everyone’s support.’
It is also noted, however, that Barcelona are fully aware that the only potential avenue to the signing of the Croatian is Manchester City being hit with a club-altering sanction on the part of the Premier League for their long-term financial breaches.
