Barcelona fans breathe sigh of relief as Xavi’s Vitor Roque plans confirmed

An insight into the plans of Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernández for Vitor Roque over the remaining months of the season has today been provided.

And the news will no doubt come as music to the ears of all of a Blaugrana persuasion.

This comes amid confirmation that the club’s boss remains of the opinion that Roque’s traits are best suited to a centre-forward role.

Murmurs of discontent have long been spreading amongst Barcelona’s supporters, regarding the manner in which the January arrival at the club is being utilised.

As much comes after Roque, on several occasions, was introduced off the bench, only to be forced out wide owing to Robert Lewandowski’s presence as the Catalans’ attacking spearhead.

As confirmed by Mundo Deportivo, though, Xavi, in fact, does not view Roque as a winger.

Across the remainder of the term, the expectation is therefore that, when taking to the pitch, the 18-year-old will be made use of in his favoured centre-forward role, whenever possible.
