Barcelona do not plan to sell Franck Kessié in January

Despite the rumours circulating that Franck Kessié is set to depart Barcelona in January, Marca states that the Blaugrana have no intention of selling the Ivory Coast international.

The 25-year-old joined Barcelona this past summer, but has failed to establish himself as a regular in Xavi’s starting XI. He has only made 13 appearances for Els Culers so far this season and there were rumours circulating that he would leave the club in January in the interest of more playing time.

Even though last week it was communicated that Kessié’s agent denied that his client would leave the Catalan coast in January, he met with the Barcelona board yesterday to discuss the midfielder’s situation at the club, all the while telling Mateu Alemany that Kessié has two offers on the table, one from Serie A and one from the Premier League.

However, Barça are not keen to part ways with Kessié as they are already short of players in midfield and they are not in the financial position to sign someone else.
