The brass at La Liga champions Barcelona have made the call to part ways with defender Héctor Fort before the summer transfer window is out.
This comes with the full-back not featuring in the plans of Hansi Flick and his staff for the season ahead.
Defender Fort is for his part fresh off a temporary spell away from Catalunya’s capital, with Barcelona’s La Liga rivals, Elche. The youngster’s time in Alicante was heavily impacted by injury, restricting Fort to just 17 appearances all told.
Across these outings, though, the versatile full-back continued to showcase his unquestionable talents, particularly in the attacking third. Despite his lack of minutes, Fort managed to directly contribute to five goals in Elche colours.
It had in turn been suggested that the 20-year-old could be afforded a fresh chance to prove himself in the colours of his parent club in 2026/27.
If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, however, then this will in fact not be the case… As per a report from Jijantes:
‘Héctor Fort will leave in this transfer market. With several proposals on the table, club and player are studying the best loan for the culé full-back.’
