A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has racked up more accurate passes than any other player in this season’s edition of the Champions League.
The Blaugrana star in question? Pau Cubarsí.
Stopper Cubarsí was for his part in from the off once again on Tuesday night, as Barcelona kicked their European campaign back into gear in a meeting with Aston Villa.
When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops emerged comfortable 3-0 victors.
Cubarsí, meanwhile, enjoyed a solid outing on both sides of the ball, with his efforts in possession having culminated in 88 of his attempted passes being completed.
All told, across his four Champions League appearances this term, the 19-year-old has in turn completed a hefty 320 passes. And as revealed by statisticians WhoScored, this is a higher figure than any other player has managed in the 2026/27 edition of the tournament.
