José Mourinho hails seldom-seen Real Madrid pair after AEK: ‘They were so good’

Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho moved to revela his appreciation for the efforts of two of the more seldom-seen members of his squad, post-match on Wednesday evening.

Real are of course fresh off making it seven wins from their last seven across all competitions.

After making the trip to Greece to lock horns with AEK Athens in the Champions League, Los Blancos twice came from behind, to ultimately emerge 3-2 victors.

Amid his side’s search for a late winner, José Mourinho dipped deep into his squad, introducing the likes of Carlos Espí, Endrick, Brahim Díaz and Álvaro Carreras off the bench.

And following the full-time whistle at the AEK Arena, Real Madrid’s headmaster was keen to single two of this quartet out for special praise.

During his post-match press conference, Mourinho assured:

“I’m very lucky to have a squad this good. Brahim and Carreras, for example, were so good!”
