Barcelona consider free agent Stole Dimitrievski swoop

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona are giving consideration to a summer swoop for Rayo Vallecano star Stole Dimitrievski.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have this afternoon provided an insight into ongoings behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Barcelona, it is understood, are eyeing reinforcements between the posts with a view to next season.

Left unconvinced by the performances of no.2 Iñaki Peña when tasked with standing in for the sidelined Marc-André ter Stegen, Deco and co. are ready to listen to offers for the Spaniard.

And, in the case of a buyer being found, the Blaugrana have already identified Peña’s ideal replacement.

As per the aforementioned MD, Stole Dimitrievski has found his way firmly onto the radar of the Camp Nou brass.

Ahead of the expiration of his contract with Rayo Vallecano in the summer, the Macedonian has been earmarked as a leading target, owing chiefly to his ‘zero cost and proven experience in La Liga’.

Dimitrievski was actually close to signing for Barcelona back in 2022, only for the transfer to collapse at the last owing to the refusal of Neto to move on mid-season.

This time round, though, the 30-year-old could well have his Blaugrana-shaped wish granted, with a view to the 2024/25 campaign.
