Samu Omorodion reiterates his Atlético Madrid dream

On-loan Atlético Madrid talent Samu Omorodion has today reiterated his hopes of linking back up with his parent club next season.

Striker Omorodion, for his part, secured a temporary departure from the Wanda Metropolitano last summer.

Amid intense competition for places up top in Diego Simeone’s squad, Atlético opted to farm the 19-year-old out on loan, with the intention of securing more regular first-team minutes.

And as much is precisely what has since played out at Alavés.

Omorodion has racked up 25 La Liga appearances this season, finding the net a none-too-shabby nine times along the way.

Such impressive production has given rise to inevitable media speculation that the youngster could be in line for a place back in the first-team setup at Atlético next season.

And, should Omorodion have his way, this is precisely what will play out over the summer.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Marca (as cited by Mundo Deportivo) this week, the Spanish youth international was drawn on his plans for the 2024/25 campaign.

And Omorodion showcased little hesitation in confirming that:

“My dream and my goal is to play next year for Atlético.”
