Barcelona chief travels to England for striker negotiations

Barcelona sporting director Deco has made his way to the United Kingdom, to hold talks with the representatives of Chelsea star João Pedro.

This comes as the Blaugrana prepare to ramp up their pursuit of the Brazil international.

The name of frontman Pedro has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent days.

After hitting a brick wall in efforts to negotiate with La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid for Julián Alvarez, Barcelona are widely understood to have shifted their focus towards a deal for Chelsea’s star goalscorer.

Pedro is in the midst of a productive campaign to date, giving rise to an impressive 29 goal contributions in all competitions.

And as alluded to above, this weekend, Barca’s Pedro operation will be kicked up a notch.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Deco has travelled to London to meet with the footballer’s agents in the coming days.’

The Portuguese is also expected to be in attendance for Saturday’s FA Cup final between Chelsea and Manchester City.
