Barcelona chief provides transfer market update

Barcelona sporting director Deco has on Tuesday provided an update on the club’s ongoing efforts on the transfer front.

This comes amid confirmation of the Blaugrana actively working on reinforcements to Hansi Flick’s squad with a view to the 2026/27 campaign.

Deco for his part made his way to London last week, to kickstart a fresh round of negotiations regarding potential signings and sales alike.

The chief Premier League star linked with Barca over recent weeks has of course been Chelsea frontman João Pedro, tipped as a potential replacement for the departing Robert Lewandowski.

Spotted by the media upon his return to Spain this evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of the Brazilian was put to Deco himself.

The Camp Nou transfer chief went on to explain, though, that whilst he fully intends to ‘bring in players’ over the coming weeks, Pedro’s name cannot yet be discussed publicly:

“We’re working on it and we will bring in some players. Right now, we can’t say anything about João Pedro; we’re interested in several players. We still haven’t spoken with the clubs.”
