Barcelona director Deco speaks out on futures of João Félix, João Cancelo and Vitor Roque

Barcelona director Deco has given an insight into the transfer situation at the club.

First up comes the latest on the futures of João Félix, and João Cancelo.

Both Félix and Cancelo, of course, made the move to Catalunya during the summer, in respective loan deals from Atlético Madrid and Manchester City.

The pair enjoyed superb starts to life in Barca colours, adding a completely new element of attacking verve to Xavi’s ranks.

Recent weeks, however, have seen the influence of the two Joãos fade, giving rise to suggestions that both could be on the move back to their parent clubs next summer.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Marca, it, therefore, came as little surprise when the subject of the loan duo was put to aforementioned Barcelona director Deco.

The Portuguese, though, was quick to provide his backing to his fellow countrymen, confirming that the Blaugrana intend to have both Félix and Cancelo at their disposal next season, too.

“We have Joao Felix and Cancelo for next season because they are very important for the squad.”

From here, Deco was also drawn on the situation of Vitor Roque.

Barca have long struck a deal for frontman Roque, with the youngster having since remained in his home country of Brazil to continue his development with Athletico Paranaense.

The 18-year-old, as per the current terms of the agreement, will make the move to Spain next summer.

Deco and co, though, are hopeful of pushing the transfer forward to January, a plan which the former midfielder reiterated to Sport this evening:

“We all want him to come as soon as possible. From the beginning, there was talk that he would only come from January because that was the condition that Athletico Paranaense set. We are doing everything, we know the LaLiga regulations, that there have been some changes that can help us and, if this happens, we also have some responsibilities with LaLiga when it comes to fulfilling some pending things.”
