Barcelona and Bournemouth in advanced talks over Neto transfer

As reported by Relevo’s Toni Juanmartí and Albert Rogé, Bournemouth are negotiating with Barcelona to sign Norberto Murara Neto.

According to sources, the two sides have made good progress in the last couple of hours and they hope that they can reach an agreement soon.

The Brazilian keeper has also been linked with Napoli, however, the Italians appear to be prioritising the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea instead.

Neto arrived to Barcelona in 2019 from Valencia in a deal worth €35 million which saw Jasper Cillessen move the other way. However, he failed to displace Marc-André ter Stegen as the Blaugrana’s first-choice keeper.

Barcelona are continuing to look for ways to reduce their wage bill and offloading the 33-year-old could better the club’s financial situation.

From Bournemouth’s perspective, the signing of an experienced top-level keeper could prove to be vital as they attempt to survive their first season back in the Premier League.
