Barcelona add new name to striker target shortlist

La Liga giants Barcelona have added a new name to the club’s list of potential signings for the centre-forward position. That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Nicolò Tresoldi as the player in question.

It is of course common knowledge at this point that the Camp Nou brass are on the lookout for fresh blood up top with a view to the fast-approaching new season.

To date, Barca’s efforts have been focused chiefly on a deal for Julián Alvarez, the first-choice target of Hansi Flick and his staff.

Owing to the outright refusal of Atlético Madrid’s board to negotiate with a direct La Liga rival, however, the Blaugrana have been left with no choice but to broaden their search.

And as alluded to above, with as much in mind, Deco and co. have this week circled a new name in red… As per a report from Sport:

‘One of the players who is being closely followed by the sporting area is Nicolò Tresoldi, revelation striker of the Belgian League and top scorer of Brugge last season.’

Tresoldi, for his part, is a 21-year-old forward, who impressed to the tune of 23 goals and nine assists in the colours of Club Brugge last season. Hansi Flick, a fellow countryman of the German youth international, is understood to be a keen admirer of Tresoldi’s talents.

Amid further interest from the Premier League, meanwhile, Brugge are demanding a fee in excess of €40 million to sanction a potential summer sale.
