Real Madrid ‘on the verge’ of record-breaking €10m sale

La Liga giants Real Madrid are closing on a deal to tie up their latest piece of impressive business on the transfer front this summer.

This comes amid the understanding that Jacobo Ortega is all set to take his talents to France, to link up with RC Strasbourg.

Jacobo, for those not familiar with his name, is a 20-year-old attacker, who chiefly lines out at centre-forward. Last season, on the books of Real Madrid’s Castilla side, the youngster racked up 18 goals and two assists across all competitions.

Such exploits piqued the attentions of a number of clubs across Spain and beyond this summer, amid widespread interest in a deal for a player whose first-team path is currently firmly blocked by the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Carlos Espí and Endrick.

And as alluded to above, this week, one such suitor appear to be closer than ever to luring the Spaniard away from his home country on a permanent basis.

As per a report from journalist Javier Rodríguez Pascual:

‘Jacobo Ortega, on the verge of sealing his signing with Strasbourg. It will be the most expensive sale of a Real Madrid youth player who has not debuted with the first team. 10 million euros for 70%.’
