Bank notes, burned shirts & banners: Ousmane Dembélé’s rough Barcelona reception

The Barcelona fanbase have tonight followed through on their promise to make the atmosphere as hostile as possible for a headline member of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad.

The player in question? Ousmane Dembélé.

Barca, of course, are primed to play host to PSG in short order, in the 2nd leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie between the clubs.

As much will see wide-man Dembélé return to Catalunya for the first time since departing for France’s capital in controversial fashion last summer.

If there was ever any hope of the Frenchman being afforded a level-headed reception on the part of the home crowd at Montjuïc this evening, Dembélé kissed goodbye to it last week, in passionately celebrating after finding the net against Xavi’s Barcelona.

Few, though, could likely have predicted just how hostile the atmosphere would prove to be.

As showcased in the images and videos below, the Blaugrana faithful have taken aim at their one-time attacker in absolutely ruthless fashion, through burned jerseys, targeted banners and more:
