Atlético use Real Madrid drama to aim fresh dig at Barcelona

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Tuesday evening continued to make clear their grievances with the club’s biggest rivals.

This of course comes fresh off Real Madrid leaving those in the Metropolitano boardroom less than impressed.

Los Blancos released a statement earlier today, confirming that they had tabled a massive €150 million offer for none other than Julián Alvarez.

The proposal, which was rejected out of hand by the Atléti brass, was followed swiftly by a public response from the latter, who ‘laughed’ off their city rivals’ Alvarez interest:

As alluded to above, though, the backlash on the part of those in a position of power on the red half of the Madrid divide did not end there…

Instead, whilst taking aim at Real Madrid for a 2nd time, Atlético also made use of the opportunity to poke fun at Spanish football’s other leading club.

After Barcelona angered Enrique Cerezo and co. courtesy of a bid of their own for Alvarez last month, Atlético tonight sniped:

‘How could we (the Madrid clubs) not get along, when you make us laugh even more than Barcelona.’
