The brass at Atlético Madrid have made known their preferred candidate to be included by Barcelona in any potential deal for Julián Alvarez this summer.

Barcelona’s chase of frontman Alvarez has of course emerged as one of the stories of the summer to date in the Spanish media.
With the Argentine having been earmarked as the ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski in Catalunya’s capital, Deco and the Camp Nou hierarchy have set out to defy the odds courtesy of a big-money transfer agreement with their La Liga rivals.
To date, no such accord has been found, despite Alvarez having made clear his desire to don the colours of Barcelona moving forward.
It has in turn been suggested that members of Hansi Flick’s squad could be offered up in part-exchange, to entice Atlético into a sale.
And as alluded to above, this week, the first-choice target of Diego Simeone and co. has been confirmed.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Barcelona have received information that the player Diego Pablo Simeone is still keen on is Marc Bernal.’
It is also noted, however, that neither the Blaugrana nor youngster Bernal himself are in any way open to the prospect of going their separate ways this summer.
