The board at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have this weekend moved forward with an opening proposal for a member of the attacking ranks at Italian heavyweights Juventus.
This comes amid confirmation of the Rojiblancos working to bring Jonathan David to Spain’s capital on an initial loan deal.
It is common knowledge across the Spanish media at this point that Atlético Madrid are eyeing reinforcements at centre-forward with a view to the season ahead.
With Diego Simeone eyeing a different profile to those of Julián Alvarez and Alexander Sørloth, the Metropolitano brass have in turn drawn up a shortlist of potential late-window additions.
One name featuring prominently on this list comes in the form of the aforementioned Jonathan David, viewed as available for the right price after an underwhelming debut campaign on the books of Juventus.
And as alluded to above, on Sunday, Atlético’s efforts to bring the Canadian international in have been ramped up a notch. As per a report from transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Atlético Madrid submit official bid to Juventus for Jonathan David. Initial loan deal with buy option clause, talks ongoing about details of the proposal. Jonathan David, open to joining Atléti. Juve need a replacement secured ahead of any green light.’
