Atlético Madrid reject €30m+ Samu Omorodion bids

The powers that be at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have knocked back offers in excess of €30 million for youngster Samu Omorodion.

That’s according to Relevo transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who has on Tuesday provided the latest on developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

For those not familiar with his name, attacker Omorodion spent this past season out on loan away from Atlético.

Deemed not yet ready to contribute on a weekly basis for Diego Simeone’s side, the 20-year-old linked up with fellow La Liga outfit Alavés for the duration of the campaign.

And his stint in Vitoria-Gasteiz, all told, proved to be a productive one.

Omorodion racked up 34 La Liga appearances, 21 of which came in the form of starts.

And, along the way, the explosive young attacker pieced together a none-too-shabby haul of eight goals.

Such production has given rise to inevitable outside interest in Omorodion’s signature, with the Spanish youth international understood to be drawing admiring glances from a number of clubs in the Premier League.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, however, then Atlético, it would appear, have no intention of sanctioning a sale.

As per the aforementioned Matteo Moretto, despite speculation, Omorodion is ‘not close’ to a move to England.

This comes with the board at the Wanda Metropolitano having rejected more than one bid worth over €30 million for the starlet.
