The brass at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have found an agreement on the terms of a contract with Paris Saint-Germain star Lee Kang-in.
The Rojiblancos will now turn focus towards finding a similar accord with their counterparts at the Parc des Princes.
Midfielder Lee has been tipped for a potential Metropolitano switch throughout the summer to date. Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the attacking third, Diego Simeone and co. have earmarked the South Korean as the ideal profile.
Versatile, technically gifted and with prior experience of La Liga football, Lee is considered a perfect fit.
Negotiations, in turn, have long been ongoing between the Atléti brass, and the representatives of the 25-year-old. And as alluded to above, this week, these talks are understood to have borne fruit.
As per a report from journalist Rubén Uría:
‘Lee Kang-in has a closed agreement with Atlético de Madrid to become a colchonero for the next 5 seasons, agreeing to a contract until June 30, 2031.’
The details of a transfer agreement are now being sought with PSG. With Lee sitting down the pecking order in Luis Enrique’s squad, the European champions are viewed as open to a sale.
