Atlético Madrid are in advanced talks to sign French midfielder Boubacar Kamara.
Kamara is keen to play under Diego Simeone, according to Marca. The Marseille vice-captain has been a highly sought after player among a number of big European clubs, but Atlético Madrid seems to have taken the lead in the race to win his signature. The key behind this is a contract proposal of €4.5 million per year.
The Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and has been linked to Manchester United and Newcastle amongst others. Atlético’s latest offer, however, seems to have swayed the odds in favour of Los Colchoneros.
Kamara is equally capable at both defensive midfield and centre-back. With Héctor Herrera leaving for the MLS, Kamara’s signing would be a superb potential addition to Simeone’s squad.
