With Sevilla’s victory against Granada, Julen Lopetegui has reached 60 points in LaLiga with the Andalusian side for the third year running.
Sevilla have achieved a haul of 60 points just twelve times in their history, three of which have been under Lopetegui. Thereby, the Basque coach has now achieved this feat more times than any other Sevilla manager in history, surpassing Juande Ramos and Unai Emery who both accomplished the 60-point mark twice.
The statistics suggest that Lopetegui is already one of Sevilla’s most successful managers ever. The club have managed 60 points by this stage of the season only four times in their history, two of which have been the most recent seasons under Lopetegui.
For the majority of the current season, Sevilla have been the closest challenger to runaway league leaders Real Madrid. Lopetegui has delivered a Champions League spot in both of his previous seasons at the club, and they currently sit in the top four.
