Atlético Madrid make contact with two Spanish internationals

La Liga giants have earmarked a pair of Spanish internationals as potential signings for the summer transfer window.

This comes amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at left-back at the Metropolitano.

Atlético are widely expected to bring in fresh blood on the left with a view to next season, amid ongoing speculation linking Matteo Ruggeri with a swift exit from Spain’s capital.

Diego Simeone and co, in turn, have drawn up a shortlist of targets from across Europe and beyond.

And as alluded to above, late this week, two of the names underlined in red on the Rojiblancos’ watchlist have been unveiled online.

The info comes courtesy of transfer market journalist Matteo Moretto of Marca, who has confirmed that both Marc Cucurella and Alejandro Grimaldo have made their way onto the radar of the Atléti hierarchy:

‘Atlético de Madrid are looking for a left-back and hace reached out to two Spanish players. The names are those of Marc Cucurella and Alejandro Grimaldo. Cucurella’s high price tag, between his salary and the amount demanded by Chelsea, complicates the negotiations. Grimaldo is more affordable, and the player wants to return to playing in Spain.’
