Aston Villa want to sign Gerard Deulofeu

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery wants to sign Spanish forward Gerard Deulofeu in January, according to Relevo.

Deulofeu’s club, Udinese, won’t make it easy for Villa. Matteo Moretto of Relevo reports that it is possible that talks will continue between both parties in the coming weeks regarding a move for the player.

Former Villarreal manager Emery will be backed in the window as he looks to add to his squad after he replaced Steven Gerrard at Villa Park in November.

Udinese valued Deulofeu at around £17m when the clubs including AC Milan and Napoli showed their interest at the end of last season.

Deulofeu, who scored 13 goals last season, is reportedly open to a move. The 28-year-old has registered six assists and scored two goals with Udinese in 15 Serie A appearances this season.

The other forward Villa are looking at is Ismaïla Sarr. The Premier League side made an offer for the 24-year-old Watford winger in recent weeks, but the proposal was rejected by the Championship side.
