Arsenal contact Barcelona about Raphinha

Arsenal have contacted Barcelona about the possibility of signing Raphinha, report Mundo Deportivo.

During this transfer window the Gunners have made Mykhaylo Mudryk their number-one transfer target for the January transfer window.

However, it appears as though Chelsea have beaten Arsenal in the race to secure the services of the Ukrainian winger, who is set to join the Blues for a fee of €100m.

Thus, the North London club have set their eyes on Raphinha and they have already contacted Barcelona regarding the feasibility of signing the Brazilian this month.

Arsenal already tried to sign the 26-year-old in the summer from Leeds United, but at the time the player opted to sign for the Blaugrana instead.

While Xavi would not be keen to part ways with Raphinha, the sale of the Brazilian winger would help the club improve their poor financial standing and recover some of the €58m that they paid for him a couple of months ago.
