Antoine Griezmann’s departure saves Barcelona €20 million

More details are emerging about the financial terms of Antoine Griezmann’s contract with Barcelona, which expires on 30 June 2024.

Catalan outlet Sport began by revealing that if the French striker had completed his entire contract playing with Barça, he would have been paid €95 million over five years at the club. This is a fixed salary without counting variables.

Now it has emerged what he would have earned if he had stayed at Barça for the remaining three years of his contract.

At the end of the current season, the Frenchman was due to receive €7 million as a loyalty bonus. Over the last two seasons, the amount was €6.5 million per season. Barcelona have therefore saved over €20 million with the striker’s departure to Atlético Madrid.
