The ongoing string of contract extensions being agreed between La Liga giants Barcelona and the club’s stars looks set to continue over the days ahead.
This comes amid confirmation of youngster Iker Rodríguez being primed to put pen to paper on fresh terms in Catalunya’s capital.
The name of goalkeeper Rodríguez emerged as a prominent one behind the scenes at Barcelona this past weekend. After Joan García was struck down by injury, the 18-year-old was called up to take his place on the bench for the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla.
From here, less than 24 hours later, Rodríguez was then back on the pitch, featuring from the off as Barca Atlètic put UD Barbastro to the sword by a goal to nil.
This proved a show of clear confidence in both the talents and maturity of the up-and-coming shot-stopper. And as alluded to above, precisely as much looks set to be reiterated by the Camp Nou brass over the days ahead.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘Iker will soon seal his renewal. He ends his contract as a youth player in 2027 and will sign until 2029.’
