Barcelona star Anthony Gordon has this week revealed his take that he and his teammates performed more impressively than their Real Madrid counterparts in last weekend’s El Clásico.
The latest edition of Spanish football’s most hotly-contested fixture was of course played to completion a little over a week ago.
When all was said and done, visitors Real Madrid emerged triumphant by two goals to one, in the process keeping alive their La Liga title hopes.
Los Blancos were largely praised for the level of their display at the Camp Nou, arguably the club’s finest since the return of José Mourinho.
Post-match, though, Barcelona star João Cancelo was quick to reveal his take that the Blaugrana were in fact the better team over the 90 minutes in Catalunya’s capital.
And as alluded to above, early this week, Cancelo has been backed by teammate Anthony Gordon. Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Monday, attacker Gordon explained:
“I think we were the better team against Real Madrid, but our failure to recover properly physically took its toll on us.”
