Having spent several months without a team, Spanish icon Andrés Iniesta is now set to embark on a new journey in the United Arab Emirates. After recent training sessions at both the Ciutat Esportiva del Barça and in Albacete, Iniesta’s career has shifted towards a fresh chapter.
Departing from his spell with Japan’s Vissel Kobe, the La Mancha native made it clear that retirement wasn’t in his plans. According to Sport, via SD, it had been confirmed that Iniesta is on the way to the United Arab Emirates to finalise his contract with Emirates Club in the city of Ras Al-Khaimah, situated near Dubai. The player has since landed in Dubai where he is set to complete his move.
Despite potential interest from MLS, and rumours of a reunion with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami, the 39-year-old midfielder has opted to embrace this opportunity in the Middle East after spending four seasons in Japan.
